Be More BASED

Memes, the indisputable kings of the online and onchain space, are the main characters in this affordable drop from Transient Labs and Coinbase’s Base.

The 48 hours of open edition mints feature works by artists you probably already know from other crypto corners, like OSF and Dangiuz.

No art sneak peeks yet, but you can get a feel for the drop’s vibe by flicking through the versions of its website — ranging from standard meme blue, to sparkly Comic-Sans-infested pink, all the way to NSFW moan-filled red.

It’s never been easier to become based (Coinbase really nailed the name on that one huh).

What am I looking at here? Some kind of mutant-frog-shrimp, visiting from either very far away or very long ago.

It’s one of 1,000 short videos made by Boldtron, two brothers who’ve been creating 3D and CGI art for over a decade.

Here they’re using AI to develop an organic world with hundreds of these mysterious little creatures.

The result is a series of real-looking close-up shots pulsating endlessly thanks to smooth looping effects. Sometimes cute, sometimes downright hideous, and definitely a sign of our coming god-like abilities to generate imaginative new worlds from scratch.

Note that the title says Chapter 1, so we’ll likely see these species evolve, along with some storytelling elements we’re not seeing yet.

JR, one of the original 0N1 FORCE founders, is back with this upcoming anime-styled PFP collection.

It’s still early days, and project details are limited, but they’ve recently revealed some art sneak peeks.

Like the rest of the starry-eyed 2021 market, I was very excited about 0N1 Force when it first minted, before it became yet another example of 2021-esque overpromising/underdelivering.

Too early to tell if this will turn out differently.
